03/23/2018 - Cover Page Articles

Okay so, as you all know, the cover page will have the titles of all the articles that will be inside the magazine. This blog is mainly to give you a summary on the 3 articles that will be mentioned in the cover page.

Article 1- Dedication
The name says it all. This article will be mainly to explain why it is important to stay dedicated and focused on this special diets and workouts I will be providing for all of you. It will give you tips and information that will inspire you to want to do and follow all of these steps and get your body in shape. Staying healthy physically can help you stay healthy emotionally too. If you're eating the right food and keeping fit, your body will be strong and help you to cope with stress and also fight illness. Eating well and exercising often when you're a teenager will also help you stay in good health later in life. Getting regular sleep is another really important way to stay healthy. Having late nights can leave you feeling tired the next day. It can be difficult, but try to have at least 8 hours sleep each night. 

Article 2- How do I start my road to fitness?

Well, of course its going to be a hard change for people who aren't used to exercising everyday and eating the healthiest meals. This article will help you have some patience. Here you will have a beginners guide to lose weight and eat healthy. This plan will be a little bit easier than the one in the main cover article. This way, you will start little by little until you are ready to take things into the next level. 

Article 3 - Benefits of being healthy

For the last article we will talk about the benefits of being fit and healthy. This doesn't just talk about looking fit and having a nice body. No, this is about the actual scientific benefits you're body will get by exercising and eating the right meals. People who regularly exercise have a reduced risk of cardiovascular problems such as heart disease and stroke compared to unfit people. The Harvard School of Public Health says that fit people potentially have a lower risk of developing certain cancers. Regular exercise boosts mood and can potentially help reduce depression.

03/21/2018 - A new schedule

For those of you who remember, last week in one of my blogs I mentioned how I was going to create a weekly schedule with exercises to make your body be in shape. Well now I decided to add another schedule, but this time, it'll be about healthy meals to eat and when to eat them. Before I show you an example of what the schedule would look like, let's go back to the basics. Of course, exercising is a good way to lose weight and get in shape. But if you don't eat the right things, it may take a lot longer to lose weight and get the body you're looking for. Healthy diet and exercise can help people maintain a healthy weight and it may help them lose weight. It is important to recognize that overweight is a chronic condition which can be controlled with long-term changes.
Idea of a weekly meal plan
I know you arrant able to read this picture but that doesn't matter. The point of this picture is for you to see the layout of what the weekly meal plan schedule would look like. It would tell you what to eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.

03/19/2018 - Magazine cover ideas

     We've been talking a lot about all the type of information that I will be including in my magazine. But what the people really want to see if the magazine cover. The cover is KEY for grabbing people's attention. They want to see a picture that makes them want to read into the magazine. They don't want just any random picture with words written all over it. The layout has to be appealing to them. You want the cover to give out good vibes and give you the feeling that this is the magazine you want to take home and read. As stated in an online article I read earlier, " According to experts of advertising and magazine writing arena, first impressions are 94% design related." Did you guys hear that? 94% of first impressions are design related. This is basically saying that without an attractive magazine cover, the magazine won't sell. You have to be very careful with what pictures you use, where you place the title, the font the title is in, the placement for the other story headers, and a lot more. Here's an example of the layout I'm thinking about for my magazine. Keep in my that I won't be using the fonts or pictures in this example for my actual magazine. This is just to show you guys my layout.

As you can see, to the left we have a concept of where to place the title, image, and the cover article. I created this magazine cover using a website called Canva. This website allows you to create a blog, magazine, advertisements, etc. I'm planning on having the main picture as the background and having the title all the way at the top of the magazine. then, the cover article name will be located in big texts in the center of the page. The rest of the minor articles will be written under the cover article name and in a sampler text. The reason I chose this layout was because it makes it appealing to the viewer and everything is easy to read and locate. I don't want to make my readers have a hard time trying to figure out which one is the cover article or where the names of the other articles are located.

03/15/2018 - A little bit more about the cover article

Okay so for those of who who read my previous blog, you have a good idea of what the cover article is going to be about. Now, I only mentioned healthy diets in order to not gain more weight and in order to have the right nutrients and proteins in your body. there's still a lot more to the cover article which I'll talk about today. instead of only mentioning healthy diets, I'll be talking about special exercises to do on a daily in order to get the perfectly fit body you're looking for. This is going to be an example of what it'll look like. 
This is NOT the actual calendar. It is the concept of what the layout will look like
Anyway, there will be a calendar and each day will have a specific exercise to work out specific muscles in your body and after you work out there are meals to eat and get that energy back. This calendar will give you ideas of what type of exercises you can do if you choose not to do the exact exercises listen on it. The way to lose weight isn't just by eating healthy. Exercising makes you lose weight and be fit but besides that it is very good for your health. For example, exercising only 30 minutes a day helps you lower the risk of heart disease, improve your cholesterol, and even lower your blood pressure by 6 or 7 points!

03/13/2018 - I decided to make some changes...

     I decided to make some changes to my project but before we get into that lets have a recap on everything we've done so far. We picked our title, we have a genre, and we have a font for the magazine. But now let me tell you a little bit about the changes I decided to make. For those of you who remember, this blog used to be called "Living' Fit." Well, I decided to change the title. Let me explain why. The title of an article is basically the first thing that viewers read before they get into the article. It needs to catch their attention in order for them to want to keep reading into it. the title also has to accurately describe the contents of the script, article, blog, etc. Living' Fit was just too basic. it just gives the idea of how to live fit basically and that sounds boring even to me. I ended up changing the title to "Fitness Frenzy." The word frenzy means extreme mental agitation; wild excitement or derangement. This title sounds a lot more aggressive. Sort of making people get motivated to stay fit and making them want to find out more about this fitness frenzy lifestyle. Insanity is a synonym for the word frenzy. Giving people the idea that this isn't going to be easy for them. They're going to have to be dedicated and follow all the procedures stated in the magazine in order to achieve their goal of staying fit.

     That wasn't the only thing that changed. Let's talk a little bit about our font. To start off, fonts are one of the most important things when writing an article. It needs to be comfortable for the reader. Before i came to the conclusion of picking font #5, i had chosen font #4. To the right is an example of what it looked like.  Now let me explain why I didn't end up choosing that font. Sure it's a nice, appealing font. But it's almost too nice. It looks like a relaxing font which in this case "relaxation" isn't the message I'm trying to spread. I want people to know being fit is hard, intense, etc. i want them to me hyped and excited to start this type of training. This is why i ended up changing my font to option #5. Disregard the name "Livin' Fit" and just focus on the font. Font #5 really make the title a little more serious and aggressive unlike option #4. So basically these were the 2 details that i had to change and why I changed them!

03/11/2018 - Picking the Fonts

Now comes one of the hardest tasks to do involved in writing a magazine. Picking the perfect font. Many people disregard the font of the article they're reading because it doesn't seem important to them. Guess what. This is one of the most important steps of writing a magazine article. I used to disregard the text font too until now that I realized the importance of it. The one thing that concerns me is, how am I going to pick the perfect font when there's literally MILLIONS of fonts all over the internet? Well, I'll have to do some research of course. I went on a website called "1001 fonts," which apparently has 1001 fonts. I started to look for bold aggressive fonts that would really catch someone's attention. After looking through hundreds of fonts, this were the ones that made the final cut.
Out of those 5 options I had to think really hard and focus on which font would really stand out and the readers actually want to follow what the article is talking about. So after thinking for a very long time I made the executive decision to chose font #5. This font is called "American Captain." The reason I chose this font was because it was the most serious font out of all of them. This magazine is supposed to inspire people to start getting in shape. Eating the right things and exercising when they can. the rest of the fonts were really nice too but I just didn't think they would make people take the article as serious as it is. The problem with font #3 was that it makes it very hard to understand what the words say. The most important part of the font is making it easy for people to read the article. Sure, some fonts seem cool and pretty but if the audience can't read what you're saying then whats the point?

03/08/18 - Cover Article

     Okay. After doing all of my research I finally finished coming up with the title and the topic for my magazine. That's only the very beginning of what I have left to do. I was;t able to make a final decision on what my cover article should be on. I was in between writing just about sports, giving tips about a healthier life, what sports to play, healthy diets, special exercises to lose weight, and many more options for the cover article. I started to brainstorm more ideas and I came to a conclusion to just base my cover article on how to stay healthy and fit. the reason this is my cover article is because I want to teach people the importance of eating healthy and exercising more often. Obesity in America is a very serious issue and it needs to change.
Tomato Toast with Macadamia Ricotta
     I started off by researching healthy meals to eat for breakfast lunch and dinner. I went on a website called "Greatist." It gave a great recipe to make something called: Tomato toast with Macadamia Ricotta... This breakfast meal gives you the carbs you need and the right nutrients to start off your day.
Chicken Cesar Salad Wrap
     Then I went on a website called "Delish" where it gave me a healthy lunch meal. This Chicken Cesar Wrap with fill you up and give you the energy you need to keep going through you're day. You get vitamin A, B, and C, and a solid amount of potassium into your body.
Last but not least there was a night time recipe. The last and final meal of the day. It's dinner time. At night time you aren't really supposed to eat too much since you're going to sleep you won't really burn those calories off. Thats why you should eat a nice salmon with with avocados. I got this healthy dinner meal straight out of "Foodnetwork."
